About Us

 

AZ  KICKS has been serving thousands of families across the valley and developing leaders in our community since March of 1986. 

 
I (Master David Karstadt, founder of AZ KICKS and father of four) began my training in 1977 and quickly became aware of the positive impact and enormous difference that Taekwon-Do training had on people’s lives both mentally and physically no matter what their age. 
 
Inspired by the opportunity to make that kind of difference for people, I was clear that I wanted to start my own Taekwon-Do School.  Now, decades later my passion is still alive, I have the privilege to be working with my family and AZ KICKS is making that difference for people everyday.
 
Over the years I have served as the US Taekwon-Do Team Coach and we’ve developed numerous US Taekwon-Do Team Members competing at the Junior and Senior levels at the World Championships which are held in different locations throughout the world.  Most notably winning gold medals at the 2004 World Championships in South Korea and the 2007 World Championships in Quebec.
 
Our Instructors are world class and all are internationally certified by the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) so you can be assured you are receiving the best training available!
